These sculptures are by Nancy Schön, who also sculpted the Make Way For Ducklings statues in the Public Gardens. These guys are next to the fountain in Copley Square - just near the finish line of the Boston Marathon. They were unveiled on the 100th anniversary of the Marathon, in 1996.

these two are fantastic, i always enjoy seeing public art. its one thing i really miss here in athens. great photo, and what a great idea re the marathon.
I posted the Ducklings family for Xmas on my blog and I am glad to see on yours this time the other sculpture with the Tortoise and the hare. There are both really nice and funny.
