I was in the South End at a friend's house last night and stopped to take photos of some of the beautiful trees that have started blossoming. It spurred a conversation with a woman walking by about what type of trees they are. I know that these guys above are Magnolias, but there were other trees on the same block that may or may not be Dogwoods. Or are they just white Magnolias? I have no idea! That's why I have all of you, because you guys are so knowledgeable and I know that if I put it out here, someone will help me out!

Both magnolias. Maybe one is a saucer and one is a tulip, but really there are a whole bunch with similar but slightly different flowers that it's hard to tell. The classic magnolia with the big glossy leaves is distinctly different, as is the star magnolia. We just got a new galaxy magnolia for the yard.
What an irony! I just posted a picture of the same type of tree today. From what I could gather from the internet, these are saucer magnolias. Your dogwood trees should start to bloom in the next week or so. Ours are just starting to flower this week and by next week should be spectacular.
Yeah for spring!
Spring has sprung!
Pretty1 Finally- spring!
