The pumpkin distribution line at the Boston Pumpkin Festival. Does anyone know if they broke their own world record from last year of 30,128 lit jack-o-lanterns?

What exactly are they doing?
Is this a contest? Are they lighted all at the same time? That would be quite a sight!
lv2scpbk - they're lining up the jackolanterns! It's the Camp Sunshine Pumpkin Festival, and they compete with another location every year (this year: Central Park, NY) to break the World Record for the most lit jackolanterns in one place - if you look back over the past week we've posted heaps of photos from the event...we're talking over 30,000 jackolanterns here! They had wagons delivering them from the carving station to the "pumpkin patches" around gov't center.
kate - Heck yeah they light them all! I, however, planned a birthday dinner on the same night as the festival...and then forced Whit and Leyre to come with, so we didn't get a picture of them all lit up...but can you imagine? 30,000+ pumpkins all lit up in one place? Pretty awesome - you can probably google (or look for the Festival at the link from earlier posts this week) and find a photo.
It's only been in the last three or four years that we have been able to buy pumpkins in this part of the UK. Prior to that we made lanterns from turnips!
Crazy! I bet it's spectacular when they're all lit.
Today's post on Hyde Daily Photo is Pumpkins Galore and I've included links to more than sixty pumpkin posts on blogs around the world including your own. Happy halloween to everyone.
