Frog Pond's Icy Treat

The Zamboni smoothed the ice on the Frog Pond in the Boston Common yesterday while hoards of children waited patiently on the sidelines. I've never skated on an outdoor pond...perhaps if I'd had the opportunity to try it as a child, it wouldn't seem so nerve-wracking now as an adult!

I havent been ice skating in 25 years. I probably cant even do it anymore. I think it would be a hoot to try it outdoors.

Nice action shot - like the sway of the ice skater.

Btw, I was just stopping by to thank you for your comment - your answers are posted now. But I got carried away commenting, with all your good posts. :)
You should try! Stay on the edges in the beginning. Then when you feel a little bit more secure, get away from it progressively. Wear gloves and have fun! It is much easier than inline skating, because of the light resistance of the ice. Inline skates are so smooth that you can be on your butts as soon as you stand on them.
